This role coordinates shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling, dock operations, and accurate documentation of inbound and outbound freight. The Warehouse Supervisor directs and supports warehouse team members, assigns tasks, monitors performance, and ensures safe, efficient material handling and storage practices. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy, organizing warehouse layout, and verifying that all freight is labeled, staged, and processed according to company and regulatory requirements. The role also involves operating or overseeing operation of material handling equipment, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with operations and transportation teams, and enforcing safety, security, and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Shipping and receiving experience, including documentation, dock coordination, and working with carriers and freight forwarders.
- Material handling capabilities, including safe loading/unloading, staging, and storage of various cargo types.
- Inventory control skills, such as cycle counting, reconciliation, and use of warehouse management systems.
- Forklift operation proficiency and experience with other material handling equipment, with relevant certifications preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety practices, OSHA guidelines, and best practices for freight handling and security.
- Ability to work in a physically active environment, including standing, lifting, and moving freight as needed.
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or distribution centers; experience with CargoWise or similar systems is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational training or relevant certifications are beneficial.
