Job Description
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support land mobile radio systems, including mobile and portable communications equipment.
- High School Diploma
- Hands-on experience with two-way radios (mobile & handheld)
- Skilled in maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair (component/module level)
- Strong understanding of RF theory, analog/digital systems, and VHF/UHF/700–800 MHz bands
- Proficient with test equipment (service monitors, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, wattmeters)
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams
- Experience with Motorola radios (APX, XPR/MOTOTRBO, legacy XTS/CDM/HT series) OR L3Harris
- Familiar with CPS, Radio Management (RM), and tuner software
- Knowledge of P25, DMR (MOTOTRBO), and trunked systems (SmartNet/SmartZone)
- Experience with firmware updates, codeplug management, OTAP/OTAR, and encryption (AES/DES)
- Exposure to Motorola infrastructure (repeaters, base stations, MCC dispatch)
- RF systems: repeaters, duplexers, antennas, feedlines, grounding
- Basic IP networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS)
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and LMR environments
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
- And most importantly- utmost professional demeanor and client presentation
