Purpose of Role
Located within a dynamic, fast-growing manufacturing facility, the HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting a 24-hour operational environment. While the position will begin on the day shift for training purposes, it will transition to an evening shift (4:00pm – 12:30am, Monday to Friday) to provide dedicated HR support to our round-the-clock operations. The HR Generalist is responsible for delivering a full range of human resources functions to ensure an effective, compliant, and employee-focused workplace. This role works closely with on-site HR personnel to provide consistent service and share responsibilities across key HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and HR administration. Additionally, the HR Generalist collaborates with the broader HR team on North American cluster and global initiatives, ensuring local practices align with wider organizational goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Work closely with site Management to provide support as needed on confidential human resource matters and special projects.
- Recruitment process:
- Review job descriptions and/or assist managers with documenting new positions as required.
- Post job ads on all necessary platforms.
- Use hiring platform to conduct searches for suitable candidates as needed.
- Communicate and coordinate with recruitment agencies.
- Schedule interviews for hiring managers and attend them as required.
- Assist with preparation of employee offer letters and associated documents; distribute them to managers and candidate for signatures.
- Use applicant tracking system to save candidate profiles.
- Preparation of employee-related documentation, such as pay increase letters, termination letters, disciplinary actions, etc.
- Participate in the development or improvement of people management process and related HR technology projects.
- Create and update employee handbooks and other related policies/manuals.
- Drive special projects (i.e. compensation benchmarking analysis, etc.).
- Support global HR initiatives.
- Backup for payroll processing with fine attention to detail and accuracy.
- Assist with workers’ compensation claims as needed.
- Administer Condair’s policies and procedures and provide guidance to managers and employees.
- Assist in measurement of HR related statistics, leave time, head count, turnover, etc.
- Assist with and/or prepare monthly HR Analytics report.
- Assist managers on a variety of employee relation topics.
- Communicate with staff regarding HR related updates.
- Although not expected often, travel could be required to support other Condair objectives, including places in USA, Canada and/or overseas.
- Adhere to the company’s Quality Assurance System and Health and Safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies
- Education and Experience: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or other relevant educational preferred. 3-5 years’ experience as an HR generalist required.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English (reading, writing, spoken). Ability to communicate clearly use language appropriately in variable situations.
- Ability to Reason: Ability to see and make decisions based on the big picture. Ability to deal with problems involving multiple variables. Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks on a daily basis. Ability to adjust priorities quickly to meet demands.
- Computer Skills: Experienced using Windows systems. Proficient user of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience in using Paylocity HRIS system an asset.
- Math Skills: Basic skills; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to carry out basic financial analyses. Ability to compute HR metrics, such as turnover rates, etc.
- Certificates/Licenses: Project Management Professional certification or SHRM-CP designation an asset.
- Other: Well-versed in US employment laws and regulations. Understanding of documentation control principles, adhere to strict confidentiality of employee and company documents, electronic files and other information. Experience writing policies/procedures and job descriptions required. Experience in using LinkedIn Recruiter platform an asset. Experience in processing US payroll an asset. Proven ability to work in the United States and the ability to travel internationally as required.
