Job Description:
Position: Long Arm Excavator Operator
Location: Charlotte, NC
Are you a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator who takes pride in precision and safety? We're looking for an experienced Long Arm Excavator Operator to join our Charlotte team. This position plays a key role in maintaining our wash pit operations and supporting excavation, site prep, and demolition work.
The ideal candidate will have strong excavator operating experience and hold a valid Class A CDL with the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate long arm excavators efficiently and safely in various site conditions.
- Remove washout materials from pits and surrounding areas.
- Manage crushed concrete piles, ensuring slope stability and preventing cave-ins.
- Excavate trenches for piping, assist with grading and general site prep.
- Support demolition and material handling as needed.
- Conduct daily and bi-weekly inspections to maintain equipment reliability.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety policies, maintaining awareness of hazards like overhead lines and underground utilities.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor including climbing, walking, and stooping.
- Ability to safely enter and exit heavy equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Work Environment
- Outdoor, field-based work environment with exposure to dirt, dust, noise, and varying weather.
- Occasional indoor work for inspections or equipment maintenance.

Qualifications
- Heavy Equipment Expertise: Proven hands-on experience operating excavators, particularly long-arm models.
- CDL Requirement: Must hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and be able to operate a manual transmission.
