Location: Portable Plants (Continental United States, mainly SE)
Position Overview:
Join our team as a Portable Plant Maintenance Technician with opportunities for growth and competitive compensation, based on experience. This role involves maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and infrastructure across our portable concrete plant facilities. Must be open to traveling across North and South Carolina.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual inspections and tests on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions by listening for unusual sounds and discussing operational issues with supervisors or colleagues.
• Disassemble and replace defective machine parts, ensuring efficient equipment operation.
• Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery components.
• Install, assemble, and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment; replace gauges, valves, and regulators as needed.
• Maintain the physical structure of the facility, including repairs to structures and equipment.
• Utilize welding equipment and cutting torches for metal repairs and fabrications.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical apparatus such as switches, relays, motors, and electronic components.
• Order maintenance-related parts and materials, ensuring timely availability for repairs.
• Perform minor repairs on forklifts, loaders, tractors, and trailers.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have VALID driver license and acceptable driving record.
• Must have welding and cutting torch skills to work with metal to repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment. Applicant should be able to perform small fabricating jobs.
• Must have basic electric wiring understanding to trouble shoot and repair. Skills helpful include: checking a motor or fuse disconnects box for continuity, replacing electric eyes, replacing motor leads, and using a voltage meter in a 480 volt, three-phase environment.
• Overtime and Saturday work will be mandatory if events or emergencies so dictate.
• Must be able to perform preventative maintenance chores such as cleaning chutes and changing dust house filter bags as needed.
• Must adhere to strict safety policy including lockout-tagout, confined space, fall protection, and all other applicable safety policies incurred performing work duties
• Requires good communication skills and must be able to work in a team environment
• Able to work with management to help improve and maintain a good preventative maintenance program.
• Needs to be self-motivated and have the ability to work alone at times in an unsupervised environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in air compressor systems and air solenoid valves and their operation
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Valid Driver License.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS - Be able to climb, bend, squat, lift up to 75 lbs.
• WORK ENVIRONMENT - Job requires climbing and working in high places on plant equipment occasionally. Should be able to work around moving parts on machines, in all types of weather, various heights and in enclosed spaces.
