Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble and install structural steel components.
- Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters and construction management software like ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and HeavyBid to plan, track, and execute tasks efficiently.
- Safely operate heavy machinery and equipment required for lifting, positioning, and securing steel structures on-site.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to coordinate schedules, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to safety standards including OSHA regulations.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of work sites for safety hazards or structural issues; implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in project estimating, budgeting, and managing contracts to meet project deadlines within scope.
Skills
- Extensive experience reading blueprints, schematics, and construction plans related to steel structures.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Primavera P6, Primavera, Bluebeam, ProCore, HeavyBid, and other construction management tools.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols including OSHA standards.
- Skilled in using measurement tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary.
- Proven supervising experience with a track record of managing teams on large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, budgeting processes, and contract management.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while maintaining high standards of quality control.
- Experience working on pipeline projects or heavy infrastructure developments is a plus.
