The Concrete Masonry & Hardscapes Association (CMHA), the premier national trade association representing manufacturers and suppliers of concrete products, is seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Materials Laboratory Technician II to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will lead and support the physical testing of masonry products, construct test specimens, and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.
Working alongside the Manager of the R&D Laboratory, you will help fulfill departmental goals, support association objectives, and foster cooperation among staff and CMHA customers. This position offers opportunities to mentor new technicians and assist with laboratory workflow management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical testing of masonry products
- Prepare and construct masonry test specimens
- Assist in identifying daily priorities and assignments
- Maintain and calibrate masonry testing equipment
- Comply with laboratory safety requirements, and assist in implementing quality standards
- Adhere to standardized test procedures for evaluating construction materials
- Ensure accuracy and precision in testing methodologies
Requirements:
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to follow standardized test procedures
- 1 to 3 years of experience in construction materials testing
- 1-2 years of experience in masonry materials testing preferred but not required
- Familiarity with ASTM Standards is a plus
- Familiarity with excel and data analysis is a plus
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Schedule:
8 hour shift, typically 8 AM – 5 PM, some flex scheduling available
