What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biz Ops, Growth position at Concourse?
Why This Role
Concourse is an early-stage, fast-growing startup building AI-powered software for state and local governments. This is the CEO's second venture after a successful exit.
We sell technology to state and local governments, aiming to improve public services by replacing legacy, inefficient systems. The core problem we address is the disconnect between tax payments and perceived government inefficiency—often due to outdated technology.
We're building an AI-native company where every team member is empowered to use AI tools like Claude to automate their work. Our team has a hub in Flatiron, NYC, and we support remote roles where it fits the role.
Compensation Range: $140K - $180K
- Own the Full Post-Win Journey – From contract through go-live and beyond, you shepherd every win into a strong, lasting customer relationship.
- Shape a New Function – This is a new role, giving you the chance to define how Concourse approaches post-win operations and customer growth.
- Be the Bridge – Sit at the intersection of customer success, business development, and operations, working across the company to unlock new opportunities with existing partners.
- Ground Floor Opportunity – Join an early-stage startup led by a repeat founder with a successful exit.
- Own the post-win process from contract execution through deployment and ongoing account management
- Manage contracting logistics with government partners, coordinating with legal, finance, and procurement stakeholders to close deals cleanly and quickly
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for government partners after a deal is won, ensuring a smooth handoff from sales and a strong start
- Run regular business reviews with partners to surface adoption insights, demonstrate value, and align on roadmap priorities
- Identify and develop expansion opportunities within existing accounts, from new use cases to additional agencies and jurisdictions
- Work closely with product and engineering to translate partner feedback into improvements
- Track partner health metrics and proactively address risks before they become problems
- Use AI tools to scale your work, automating reporting, synthesizing partner data, and building repeatable playbooks
- 4 years of experience in consulting, account management, customer success, or a client-facing role at a tech company
- Comfort navigating contracts and procurement processes, ideally with government or enterprise customers
- Track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships and driving tangible outcomes
- Structured thinker who can turn ambiguous situations into a clear plan and next steps
- High agency: you find the work that needs doing and do it without being asked
- Enthusiasm for AI: you're excited to use tools like Claude to 10x your output
- Strong communicator who can engage equally well with a government program director and an engineering team
- Based in or willing to relocate to NYC for in-office work
