Position Summary

Under the general direction of the AVP for Enrollment Services, this position has the primary responsibility for oversight of recruitment and admission for international student population at CUW and CUAA. This position will also be part of the strategic enrollment planning direction for international growth, and therefore will work collaboratively with members of the Concordia International Center (CIC) to ensure adequate support will align with growth goals as provided by the AVP of International Affairs.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the VP for Admissions and Financial Aid and AVP of CIC; create, implement, and execute a student recruitment strategy
  • Develop international recruitment and travel plan with the input of AVP of International Affairs and VP of Admissions, and recruitment team. Participate in travel to international high schools, partner visits, and college fairs as needed.
  • Responsible for creating the communication structure in Slate CRM by working with enrollment ops.
  • Devise and implement regular communication that include multichannel plans to build strong relationships with prospective students, families, agencies, offshore partners, international school counselors, CUW faculty, staff, athletic coaches, and other organizations.
  • Work with CUW marketing/PR and external companies to design and distribution of recruitment materials including print, online, and other media
  • Maintain relations with program directors, faculty, staff and others
  • Serve as point of contact for third-party agencies that assist with the recruitment of international students. Serve on the committee that reviews agency interest forms, conduct training, and provide timely updates.
  • Serve as Designated School Official (DSO) and work closely with the PDSO to communicate timely and accuracy of I-20 policies and processes align
  • Help to facilitate the coordination of international student orientations (managed within ISSS)
  • Supervise the International Recruitment and Admission Counselors and in-country recruiters
  • Review applications for admissions as needed
  • Work and assist the data team in finding, hiring and training student workers and/or GA's to ensure admission policies are upheld and data is accurate
  • Meet with companies, partners, and prospective students on-campus and virtually
  • Manage the international admissions budget
  • May perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Visionary, strong communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal.
  • Exceptional leadership and supervision skills, with a high comfort level managing staff remotely and locally
  • Experience working with budget and data analytics
  • Experience as a DSO or PDSO preferred
  • Experience using Terra Dotta preferred
  • Experience using CRMs such as SLATE or Banner
  • Strong cross-cultural and global competency skills and experience with international travel
  • Excellent project management skills, tracking, managing tasks that are dependent upon the work of others
  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively within a team environment
  • Knowledge and skill in the areas of sales, marketing, and customer service
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of computer and software common to the academic setting
  • Regular evening hours and some weekends are required
  • Occasional overnight travel will be required

Education & Experience

A Master's degree is preferred and five successful, progressive years of experience within international admissions/recruitment, administration and outreach experience, including marketing, development and management at a four-year university level.

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) staff position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia University benefit options include, but are not limited to the following:
