Role: The part-time, 24-hour/week, non-exempt Associate Therapist position is responsible for promoting the wellness of mind, body, and spirit of Concordia University students primarily through counseling services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
- Provides direct counseling service hours to Concordia University Irvine students, using individual and group modalities.
- Responds to mental health crises.
- Makes appropriate counseling referrals to on- and off-campus resources.
- Promotes counseling and wellness services to the campus community.
- Completes appropriate tracking and documentation of counseling work.
- Attends Wellness Center staff meetings & other department and campus meetings, as requested.
- Provides Student Leadership training, athletic team wellness training, etc.
- Provides case management and counseling services to students referred though Helping Hands
- Provides case management and counseling services to mandated students through Student Conduct and Athletics
- Communicates with off-campus providers to coordinate treatment for clients, as needed
- Other duties, as assigned
Education and/or Experience: Master's degree in counseling or related field; Associate number required; willing to train new graduates
Licensure and Certification:
- Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) registered with California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or
- Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) registered with California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or
- Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) registered with California Board of Behavioral Sciences
