What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time - Order Picker - Daytime Shift position at Concordia Publishing House?
Order Picker - Part-Time
Ability to accurately pick and pack product to fill orders for all house, transfer, retail and trade orders. This process is done with the aid of DCX and CPH office software. The Order Picker is responsible for the order accuracy and product quality.
Specific duties include:
- Pick products in designated sections guided by DCX software or paper picking orders.
- Accurately count the quantity to be picked and place the product in the proper tote or carton.
- Quality inspect the product being picked to fill the order.
- Keep work area and forward picking bays neat and clean, free of debris, empty cartons, and trash.
- Check products that have been placed in the proper-sized cartons. Items must be properly packed and padded to protect the order in shipment.
- Confirm each line item on the packing screen with the quantity needed for the order through the CPH Office and DCX packing procedures.
- Inspect the product being packed for quality control purposes looking for apparent and surface damage.
- Understand and operate packing list software.
- Work in a safe manner following all company safety procedures.
- Compare scale weight to order weight and perform a double check if the tolerance is not met.

- Must be able to complete work according to the production standards
- Complete working knowledge of the operation of DCX cart picking and packing software and hardware
- Experience level for both the Order Picker and Order Packer should be to a level where little to no supervision is required
- Able to train new employees in either the Order Picker and Order Packer positions
- Strong PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to operate material handling equipment
- Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to CPH's Vision and Values
- High School diploma or equivalent
