POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Staff Educator uses his/her knowledge of nursing and homecare to help educate current and new staff members to all aspects of homecare. He/she will help coordinate orientation for all new staff members focusing on proper patient care, procedures and documentation to improve the outcomes of our patients. The clinical staff educator will ensure that each clinician is receiving the individualized education needed to be a successful homecare clinician.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered professional nurse with a current valid Pennsylvania license. BSN preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of current experience as a professional nurse in a medical/surgical work area and two (2) years of home health experience preferred.
- Skilled in critical thinking, communication, negotiation and collaboration.
- Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and drive a vehicle with insurance limits as established by the state
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Skills
- Conducts orientation of all new clinical field staff.
- Develops education and checklists and keeps all educational materials current.
- Develops the schedule for all newly-hired staff members
- Works with the branch manager and supervisors in the office to transition new staff members off of orientation.
- Organizes yearly competency fairs.
- Continued understanding and education on OASIS and best care practices.
- Organizes in-services with the offices for all staff.
- Keeps accurate records of all education in the computer data base for easy tracking.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
