What are we looking for in an Insurance Verification Coordinator?
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a critical thinker, and possess strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Working knowledge of health insurance, either in an eligibility or billing role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Word and Excel spreadsheets.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in data entry.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
What will you do as an Insurance Verification Coordinator?
As an Insurance Verification Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring that accurate patient, physician, and payer information is recorded for all patients.
- Verify all potential payer sources for patients on an ongoing basis.
- Enter payer information and ensure patient details are updated in the agency’s software.
- Confirm physician information.
- Communicate with patients regarding their admission and potential financial responsibilities.
- Document and track patient insurance issues using Excel spreadsheets.
- Complete daily task lists to ensure all responsibilities are met.
