A Computer/Technology Teacher (K–8) typically teaches students from kindergarten through 8th grade how to use technology safely, creatively, and effectively.
Common Responsibilities
- Teach basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, file management)
- Introduce coding and computational thinking
- Teach digital citizenship, internet safety, and responsible online behavior
- Support students with educational software and learning platforms
- Introduce topics such as:
- Coding and robotics
- Digital literacy
- Multimedia creation (videos, presentations, graphics)
- STEM and technology projects
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate technology into lessons
- Maintain classroom technology and troubleshoot basic issues
Skills Required
- Knowledge of educational technology tools
- Classroom management
- Communication and lesson-planning skills

Education and Certification
