Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duty/Responsibility
To perform this role successfully, an individual should be able to:
- Prepare and deliver instruction in introductory mathematics courses in alignment with the established course map, in both in‑person and online formats.
- Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and supplemental instructional resources.
- Assess student learning through assignments, tests, and other evaluations, grading fairly and consistently, and providing timely feedback to support student progress.
- Contribute to General Education Assessment by collecting, documenting, and reporting required course data.
- Maintain regular office hours to provide academic support, assist with course‑related questions, and contribute to student recruitment and retention efforts.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, grades, and other required documentation in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.

Minimum Education
Master's
Required Licenses/Certification
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
Required Skills
- Solid understanding of introductory mathematics, including quantitative reasoning, algebra, and statistics
- Strong teaching and communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to a wide range of learners
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Skill in developing instructional materials and using effective teaching strategies
- Proficiency with learning management systems and basic instructional technology
- Strong organizational abilities, including timely grading, accurate record‑keeping, and adherence to academic policies
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students
- Commitment to Concord University’s mission and to supporting student success in foundational coursework
