Responsibilities
- Assist in the procurement of goods and services by sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotes.
- Manage purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory control processes, including cycle counting if necessary.
- Collaborate with various departments to forecast material needs and support production planning.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Monitor market trends to identify potential sourcing opportunities.
- Support logistics operations by coordinating with suppliers for timely shipments.
- Assist in the development of e-commerce strategies related to purchasing and merchandising.
Skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems including SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or AS400.
- Strong knowledge of materials management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and inventory management principles.
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, negotiation, and supply chain management.
- Familiarity with contracts, pricing strategies, logistics, and production planning processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance and market conditions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
