Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Mathematics Instructor to join our faculty in a part-time role. This position involves teaching in a hybrid learning environment, supporting students as they build mastery across key math subject areas.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in high school or college-level mathematics education, experience with virtual teaching tools, and the flexibility to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs. A student-centered mindset and innovative instructional strategies are essential.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) level Mathematics courses in online or hybrid classroom settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned courses through live, interactive sessions and asynchronous activities on Canvas, utilizing pre-developed lesson plans provided by Immersion Academy.
- Foster active participation through meaningful discussions, collaborative learning, and peer-to-peer interaction.
- Monitor student mastery through Canvas, and provide timely, constructive feedback through both formative and summative assessments.
- Participate in peer observations and feedback sessions to continually refine instructional practices.
- Work closely with colleagues, mentors, and curriculum leaders to support interdisciplinary learning and respond to students' academic and developmental needs.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a field relevant to the course subject.
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience at a U.S. public or private high school, ideally in hybrid or online environments (required).
- Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms such as Canvas and Zoom.
- Excellent communication skills and instructional design abilities, including the capacity to scaffold complex material and deliver meaningful, personalized feedback.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with classroom observations and reflective teaching practices.
- Active Single Subject Teaching Credential.
