Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable High School Instructor to join our academic team in a part-time role. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in the following subject areas:
Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, Social Science, English Language Arts (ELA), World Language and Visual Arts.
The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in their subject area, experience teaching at the high school or college level, and the ability to deliver engaging, interactive instruction in both in-person and virtual learning environments. This role emphasizes academic rigor, individualized instruction, and meaningful student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in one or more subject areas (including honors, advanced, or AP-level courses where applicable) through live and asynchronous learning formats.
- Implement provided curriculum and lesson plans while adapting instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and academic goals.
- Design and facilitate interactive lessons, discussions, projects, and assessments that promote critical thinking and subject mastery.
- Evaluate student performance through quizzes, tests, essays, projects, labs (if applicable), and other assessments; provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Monitor student progress, attendance, and participation; maintain clear and professional communication with students, families, and academic staff.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment.
- Participate in instructional planning meetings, professional development sessions, and classroom observations as needed.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and academic support teams to ensure instructional alignment and consistency across disciplines.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in the relevant subject area (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, Social Science, English, Visual Arts, Spanish, French) or a closely related field.
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience in a U.S. high school, college, or comparable academic setting.
- Experience teaching in in-person, hybrid, or online formats.
- Proficiency with online teaching tools such as Zoom, Canvas, Google Classroom, or comparable platforms.
- Strong communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work with students of varying academic levels and learning styles.
Preferred:
- Valid secondary-level teaching credential in the relevant subject area.
- Experience teaching AP, honors, or advanced-level coursework.
- Familiarity with project-based learning, interdisciplinary instruction, or portfolio-based assessment.
- Experience creating engaging instructional materials and assessments.
- Demonstrated passion for student learning, academic growth, and educational excellence.

Schedule:
- Classes are typically scheduled Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
