About The Role
Under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PRN Physical Therapist Assistant will assist with patient-related activities and provide direct patient care. This role is crucial in helping our residents regain mobility, manage pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer physical therapy treatments and procedures as directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and other required records accurately and in a timely manner, in accordance with state regulations.
- Assist with the maintenance and cleaning of the therapy department and equipment.
- Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences as needed.
- Train restorative aides in the nursing department as instructed.
- Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist, supervisor, and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress, concerns, and treatment plans.
- Educate patients, their families, and nursing staff on at-home maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
- Report any issues with departmental equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Maintain a positive, effective, and professional rapport with patients, residents, families, and colleagues.
- Active and current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of California.
