What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1:1 Education Support Professional position at Concord Middle School?
Concord Middle School is seeking a caring, reliable, and student-centered education support professional to support a medically complex student during the school day. This position will provide both academic and medical-related support to help the student access the school environment safely, meaningfully, and as independently as possible.
Salary Range: $26.18 - $31.93 per hour.
The individual will work closely with the student’s special education team, classroom teachers, related service providers, and school nurse to support the student’s participation in academic classes, transitions, routines, and daily school activities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing individualized support to the student throughout the school day, including in general education and special education settings.
- Supporting the student’s academic engagement by helping with classwork, organization, task completion, communication, and participation.
- Assisting with transitions between classrooms and school activities.
- Supporting the student with mobility needs, including lifting, transferring, and positioning the student as needed, in accordance with training, safety procedures, and the student’s individualized plan.
- Implementing accommodations, modifications, and supports as outlined by the student’s IEP and educational team.
- Supporting the student’s independence, self-advocacy, and participation with peers whenever appropriate.
- Providing medical-related support under the direction and training of the school nurse and in accordance with the student’s health care plan.
- Monitoring the student’s needs throughout the day and communicating concerns promptly to the appropriate staff.
- Maintaining student confidentiality and demonstrating professionalism in all interactions.
- Collaborating with teachers, special educators, related service providers, and nursing staff to ensure consistency of support.

Qualifications:
- Prior school-based experience preferred.
- Experience supporting students with significant disabilities, medical needs, or complex learning profiles strongly preferred.
- Willingness to participate in training related to the student’s educational, mobility, and medical support needs.
