Summary

The Electroconvulsive Therapy Program Coordinator is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for the screening, assessing, planning, treating, implementing and evaluating the client receiving ECT under the supervision of the physician. Supervises and delegates to a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) working in ECT. The ECT Program Coordinator reports to the Behavioral Health Services Nursing Manager and/or Behavioral Health Director.

Education

Associate's degree (A.D.), Diploma in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Certification, Registration & Licensure

Certification required: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association

Certification required to obtain: Management of Aggressive Behavior Part 1 and 2 within 6 months of hire.

Licensure required: Current New Hampshire State Registered Nurse license.

Experience

Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training in Behavioral Health required. Experience in office management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Screens and schedules clients.
  • Gathers data through history taking and biopsychosocial assessment of patient's clinical condition and

interprets data in order to plan and implement interventions to meet patient care needs.

  • Develops, evaluates and revises patient's plan of care, and nursing actions in response to patient's needs.
  • Makes proficient clinical judgment to deliver treatment/care reflecting knowledge and understanding of the patient's clinical condition.
  • Documents patient care and outcomes.
  • Teaches the patient and families about treatment and plan of care. Prepares patients to manage their

care after discharge.

  • Manages payment and reimbursement processes.
  • Maintains policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, QA and/or documentation forms related to the

service line.

  • Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision.

The employee is occasionally exposed to electrical hazards - shock, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
