High School Science Teacher

Role Summary: The MS/HS Science Teacher, with a strong commitment to providing a private school education with a Biblical worldview, delivers engaging instruction that develops students’ understanding of scientific concepts and practices. This individual creates and implements lesson plans, assesses student performance, communicates with parents, and collaborates with colleagues to ensure a positive and effective learning environment. The teacher is intentional about demonstrating Christ and His love through both instruction and care for students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach middle and/or high school science courses as assigned, based on student need and school scheduling
- Plan and present lessons to facilitate students’ understanding and application of scientific concepts to achieve curriculum objectives
- Prepare and distribute learning materials such as notes, assignments, assessments, and lab activities
- Grade assignments, assessments, and projects in a timely manner
- Teach science courses following the prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the MS/HS Principal
- Employ a variety of instructional aids, technological resources, and teaching methods that provide creative and engaging instruction to reach the whole student
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to spark a love for learning in students
- Provide periodic updates to parents/guardians regarding student progress through written reports and conferences
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance and accurate grade records in RenWeb FACTS; keep students, parents/guardians, and administration informed of academic progress and deficiencies
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, and Christ-centered learning environment while holding students accountable for conduct
- Maintain ACSI certification through professional development and collaborate with colleagues to strengthen instructional practices
- Attend all school staff meetings and scheduled professional development sessions and workshops
- Perform other duties as assigned by the MS/HS Principal or administration
Qualifications:
- Review and affirm, without reservation, the Core Statements adopted by CCA, including the CCA Mission, Vision, Core Values, Community Life Statement, Statement of Faith, Philosophy of Christian Education, School-wide Learning Outcomes, and Instructional Values
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Science Education, or a related field
- New Hampshire State Teaching License or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Ability to teach a variety of middle and/or high school science courses as assigned
- Obtain and maintain teacher certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
- Proven teaching experience with a thorough understanding of effective instructional practices, classroom management, and student engagement
