Minimum Qualifications
General Responsibility
Teen Leaders Adventure Camp Counselors are responsible for the supervision and implementation of camp activities for campers ages 12-14 both on and off-campus.
Specific Responsibilities
Staff Training: June 15 – 18, and June 20, 2026
Summer Camp: June 22 – August 14, 2026
Salary Range: $6,000 - $7,000, based on experience
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a clean criminal background check
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, experience driving a 15-passenger van is preferred
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a busy camp setting
- Ability and experience in supervising campers
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Good character, integrity and adaptability
- Enthusiasm, patience, self-control and sense of humor
General Responsibility
Teen Leaders Adventure Camp Counselors are responsible for the supervision and implementation of camp activities for campers ages 12-14 both on and off-campus.
Specific Responsibilities
- Implement a tripping program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers
- Coordinate with the Director of Teen & Specialty Camps itineraries for each trip and share with the Office Coordinator, camp nurse, and A-Team
- Assist in the direction, supervision, and organization of campers for each trip
- Work with other Teen Leader Adventure staff in the coordination and execution of trips and other camp activities
- Work with dining hall staff to ensure every camper has a lunch prior to leaving for any off-campus trip, when needed
- Complete vehicle safety checklist before leaving for any trips
- Assures campers are properly supervised at all times
- Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, planning, and leading those as assigned
- Practice discretion at all times in conversations with campers and other staff
- Attend pre-season staff training
- Ability to communicate and work with other staff and provide necessary instruction to campers
- Abilities to observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
- Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the activity to achieve camper development objectives
- Ability to work with different age and skill levels
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to activities
- Possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers
- Available 8:00am-4:30pm on Mondays and 8:15am-4:30pm, Tuesday – Friday
- First Aid and CPR certification, strongly encouraged
- Some high-level activity which may include running, dancing, swimming and jumping
- Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing stairs
- Frequent talking, listening, walking, sitting, and standing
- Submit all required paperwork on time.
- Attend all pre-camp trainings and orientation
- Perform other duties as assigned.
