The math department at Concord Academy values creativity in teaching mathematics, and its teachers are an enthusiastic, committed group of professionals who actively explore the fullest sense of what it means to teach math and work with adolescents. The majority of the materials used in CA’s math courses were written by the math faculty and reflect their commitment to helping students make sense of mathematical principles, recognize the connections between them, and apply them in real-world contexts, all in a spirited atmosphere of mathematical discovery. The math faculty places a special emphasis on developing the ability to reason using mathematical concepts.
The math department is seeking an educator who enjoys working with adolescents of all abilities and backgrounds, who approaches the teaching of mathematics with curiosity and creativity, and who is excited to collaborate with colleagues as we work to develop and refine ways to challenge, inspire, and support young minds. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to consider applying.
