Job Summary:
A Newly Established Concierge Neurology Practice In Manhattan is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to work alongside a top neurologist. PER DIEM with the option to transfer to full time if desired as practice grows. Experience in infusions and botox for head pain management is strongly desired!
- Provides clinical care in a concierge setting performing and documenting neurological consultations in close collaboration with the Physician.
- Obtain medical histories, performs general and neurological examinations, reviews and enters orders diagnostic and therapeutic tests and radiologic results.
- Formulates and mange’s patient treatment plans.
- The NP may perform procedures, prescribe treatment and medication in accordance with institutional and state guidelines, as well as, when necessary for scope within specialty or professional competency standards.
- Provides education and care for patients with neurological disease and their families.
- Additional responsibilities include managing patients, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic results, managing medications, dictation of clinic notes, patient/family education and attending multidisciplinary meetings.
- The NP may perform procedures in accordance with institutional and state guidelines .May have autonomous or independent practices
- The NP will collaborate on clinical research projects, quality assurance projects, and assist with the formation of protocols that will be applied to clinical practice or further their educational and clinical expertise.
- Direct Report to Neurologist and head of Private Concierge Practice
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct care including assessing, diagnosing, planning and prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment.
- Assists the physician in the care and evaluation of patients.
- Responds to incoming inquiries by phone and email while providing a concierge level of service and attention to each patient.
- Performs histories and neurological examinations on patients within the practice.
- Establishes a presumptive diagnosis, performs the general work up of the patient and maintains responsibility, in collaboration with the physician, for the management of problems facing the patient and families after diagnosis.
- Makes complete entries in the inpatient and outpatient electronic medical record, places orders, and records progress notes in HIPPA compliant medical documentation software provided by the practice.
- Initiates appropriate laboratory radiological, and special examinations or tests required for the evaluation of complaints and symptoms.
- Provides counseling and instruction to patients and their families regarding the patient’s health related problems.
- Develops a comprehensive plan of care that includes interventions to promote, maintain and improve health and prevent illness and injury.
- Maintains CPR certificationProvides follow up in health maintenance care including medication adjustments.
- Assists in training health personnel within the practice.
- Performs on call duties such as, answering patient and physician phone calls after hours and/or on weekends and evaluating patients on an emergency basis if required.
- Participates in the appropriate internal continuing medical education programs.
- Meets CME requirements.
- Provides consultation to medical and nursing staff while offering specialized skills and knowledge to assist with problem solving.
- Promotes patient satisfaction and integrated principles of caring into patient servicesPurposefully seeks necessary knowledge and skills to develop and maintain competency in the role.
- Serves as a clinical resource for nurses and new staff and may provide service specific orientation pertinent to clinical education.
- Collaborates with outside service providers that are a part of a patient's care plan, for example but not limited to Physical Therapists and Acupuncture practitioners.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing. FNP required.
- Current NYS License as a Nurse Practitioner and RN.
- Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- BLS Undergraduate major in neuroscience or related field.
- Previous experience working in an out-patient neurology practice preferred.
- Previous clinical research experience preferred.

Pay: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour
