Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves assisting with medical procedures, managing electronic health records, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining efficient office workflows while delivering compassionate service to patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with medical assisting duties including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and supporting physicians during procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and EKGs as required, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR) systems accurately, including documentation of medical histories, treatment notes, and other relevant information.
- Provide excellent patient service by greeting patients, answering questions, and coordinating appointments.
- Maintain organized medical records in compliance with privacy regulations.
- Support clinical staff with basic life support (BLS) procedures when necessary.
- Assist with medical documentation to ensure accurate record-keeping for billing and legal purposes.
- Ensure the cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and exam rooms.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR management is essential for maintaining accurate patient records.
- Experience performing phlebotomy and EKGs is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical documentation standards and basic clinical procedures is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
