MHMR Concho Valley - MHMRCV (Concho Valley Center For Human Advancement) has an open position. 

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Direct Support Professional II (Nursing) works an 8-5 p.m. shift at the Center and is under the direct supervision of the IDD Community Services Program Manager. Specific job duties include, but are not limited to, coordinating/scheduling medical, psychiatric and dental appointments for consumers in the HCS, TxHmL and GR programs; coordinating nursing appointments; transports and attends medical appointments, Urgent Care, and ER visits. The DSP II will assist nurses with non-billable activities and perform any other tasks delegated by nurses or the IDD Community Services Program Director. The Direct Support Professional may be included in the on‑call rotation and will be responsible for fulfilling all on‑call duties as assigned. The Direct Support Professional II (Nursing) may also be required to provide support in group home settings, as needed. The Direct Support Professional II (Nursing) provides all services in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code and Provider Billing Guidelines for HCS and TxHmL as required by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Graduation from an accredited High School or G.E.D certificate issued in accordance with the Texas law. Some college work preferred.

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Texas driver’s license and must be insurable on the Center’s insurance. No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, must have proof of current liability insurance.

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Two (2) years work experience preferred in the field of Intellectual and & Developmental Disabilities. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Ability to work independently, to organize work efficiently, and to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with professional personnel; to prepare reports and makes recommendations for administrative use. Knowledge of computer operation, computer applications and willingness to learn new applications. Ability to develop productive relationships with individuals and families that focus on individualized specific outcomes. Ability to effectively supervise and maintain staff.

Certification in CPR/AED, First Aid, and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB). Other training and/or certification deemed necessary by TXMHMR or this Center.

 

SALARY:   $2253 Monthly

DEPT:   5400

SHIFT:  Full-time; Monday – Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
