POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant will execute tasks across the Finance function and will be responsible for specific issues and locations within both the corporate office and across the operations, including Joint Ventures. Position is responsible for managing the company’s accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and external audits.
Position maintains and reconciles the general ledger accounts; period closing of accounts, identifies and resolves any discrepancies and prepares financial statements. Ensures accuracy, compliance with internal controls and financial integrity of reporting and works closely with manager, operations management, etc. to address concerns.
Position requires a self-starter who can manage competing priorities, is organized, motivated to implement best practices, process improvements, create automation, and efficiencies. Position reports to the Accounting Manager in the Concessions International, LLC Finance & Accounting team and interacts with Senior Leadership, Operations Management, and Ownership as well as other cross-functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages the financial close process, including ensuring all revenue, cost, etc. are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, report preparation.
- Maintains multi-entity general ledger(s) in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company accounting policies and procedures. Responsible for internal controls alignment.
- Prepares detailed journal entries and account analysis. Analyses and reconciles balance sheet accounts.
- Prepares summary explanations of financial statements variances to budget.
- Reconciles restaurant sales a to confirm bank deposit amounts are accurate and all funds are accounted for including cash and credit card accounts and vouchers.
- Reconciles bank statements to identify any outstanding deposits or errors. Ensures that billing is completed, and payments are posted timely.
- Participates in the process of testing, sampling, pulling backup and providing supporting documentation to the auditors. Participates in airport loss prevention audits.
- Maintains the annual operations budget planning process with operations management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to regulatory requirements, organizational policies, procedures, and departmental guidelines.
- Supports the prepares of property tax returns and other yearly reporting to outside agencies.
- Responsible for other Ad Hoc requests and projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the field or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
CPA certification or in the process of obtaining CPA is strongly preferred. Good understanding of accounting theory, US GAAP.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate operational and technical accounting background knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint; ability to prepare letters, spreadsheets, presentations, and/or other documents as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary; ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers, vendors and/or others as required.
- Must be detail oriented and organized with ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve conflict and deliver results.
