Why is this Role Essential?
The Regional Compliance Specialist (RCS) supports and reports to the Regional Quality & Regulatory Manager (RQRM–RN) in maintaining survey readiness, executing audits, and ensuring facility compliance with CMS Conditions for Coverage, ESRD Network standards, and state-specific regulations. The RCS serves as a centralized compliance resource, assisting with documentation review, audit coordination, and follow-up on regulatory findings. This position plays a critical role in tracking, organizing, and ensuring sustained compliance across all Concerto markets through consistent communication, data accuracy, and attention to detail.
What Will You Do?
Survey Readiness and Audit Support
- Supports RQRMs in conducting mock surveys, reviewing facility documentation, and validating readiness for CMS and state inspections.
- Assists in reviewing QAPI documentation, patient records, infection control logs, water treatment data, and staff competency files to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Tracks survey findings, follow-up actions, and Plans of Correction (POCs) in collaboration with RQRMs and facility leadership.
- Assists with document collection, organization, and submission during regulatory visits and follow-up audits.
- Maintains master tracking for all survey events, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and validated.
- Supports emergent survey response activities, including assembling documentation packets, contacting field leaders, and logging discoveries in real time.
- Helps ensure all facilities maintain continuous survey readiness by auditing key compliance elements monthly (licensure, postings, staff credentials, emergency preparedness, etc.).
Regulatory Tracking and Documentation
- Tracks regional POC progress and reports unresolved items or repeat deficiencies to the RQRM for intervention.
- Maintains organized documentation of audits, survey reports, and POC validations in SharePoint or designated compliance platforms.
- Develops and maintains facility compliance binders and ensures current regulatory postings and required documentation are in place.
- Supports communication with ESRD Networks, CMS, and state survey agencies as directed by the RQRM or Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance.
- Monitors staff licensure, certifications, and annual competency records to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ensures all regulatory deadlines and submission timelines are met for survey responses and follow-up requests.
Audit Data and Analysis
- Reviews audit outcomes for trends, recurring issues, and potential system risks.
- Compiles monthly and quarterly audit reports summarizing facility readiness, identified gaps, and completed actions.
- Assists in developing audit templates, forms, and dashboards to standardize data collection and reporting.
- Maintains accuracy and consistency in compliance tracking tools to support leadership visibility into regulatory performance.
Education and Communication
- Assists in delivering targeted education to facilities and regional leaders regarding compliance standards, survey expectations, and corrective action plans.
- Helps prepare meeting materials for QAPI, compliance huddles, and leadership briefings.
- Supports culture-building initiatives that promote regulatory accountability and proactive compliance.
- Collaborates with RQRMs, CONs, and operations teams to reinforce consistent documentation and adherence to Concerto policies.
Administrative and Project Support
- Provides administrative assistance to the RQRM and Director of Quality & Regulatory Compliance on compliance initiatives, audit schedules, and regulatory reporting.
- Tracks the status of open projects, audit assignments, and recurring deliverables.
- Always maintains confidentiality of sensitive regulatory and patient information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned; responsibilities are not limited to the above.
Compensation: $55k - $70k
Hourly rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the following: a candidate’s experience in this position and/or the dialysis industry in general, location of the position in question, urgency of company need, timeline of required to fill position, and other potential and/or applicable factors that emerge from time to time.

Qualifications
What’s Required?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in healthcare compliance, auditing, or dialysis operations will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Dialysis or healthcare experience required.
- CCHT, LVN/LPN, or RN licensure preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare compliance, quality auditing, or regulatory affairs.
- Strong working knowledge of CMS Conditions for Coverage, ESRD Network guidelines, and state survey processes.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and data-tracking systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently, exercise discretion, and handle confidential information.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Work is primarily office or remote-based, with minimal travel as required for audit or survey support. Standard office hours apply, with flexibility during survey activity or emergent regulatory situations. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
