Job Description:
The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role bridges the gap between business requirements and technical execution by creating custom applications, automating workflows, and integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Customization & Development: Design and develop custom applications, modules, and forms. Write clean, maintainable code using JavaScript and Glide APIs (GlideRecord, GlideSystem).
- Workflow Automation: Build and configure complex workflows, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, and Flow Designer flows to automate business processes.
- Integrations: Develop and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and third-party applications using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and IntegrationHub.
- Platform Maintenance: Perform system clones, patches, and upgrades. Monitor platform health, troubleshoot performance issues, and manage Access Control Lists (ACLs) for security.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to translate business goals into technical requirements and provide documentation/training for end-users.
- AI Implementation: Leverage modern features like Now Assist, AI Search, and Predictive Intelligence to enhance automation efficiency.
Technical Requirements
- Core Skills: Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, and AJAX.
- ServiceNow Expertise: Deep understanding of ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change), CMDB, and Service Portal. Familiarity with ITOM, HRSD, or SecOps is often preferred.
- Database Knowledge: Solid grasp of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and data modeling.
- Methodology: Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified System Administrator (CSA): The foundational requirement for platform management.
- Certified Application Developer (CAD): Demonstrates proficiency in building and deploying custom applications.
- Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS): Focuses on specific modules (e.g., CIS-ITSM, CIS-Discovery).
