Special Education Teacher

Overview
You will work in a high-needs, self-contained classroom with no more than 12 students, providing tailored educational support to children in grades 4-12 who benefit from structured, understanding instruction. Our campus-based setting emphasizes teamwork, ongoing training, and a shared commitment to empowering these incredible students.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with emotional and learning challenges.
• Deliver engaging lessons that meet students’ unique needs, ensuring they gain confidence and skills.
• Collaborate with a team to promote a positive, structured environment using PBIS strategies across classrooms and dorms.
• Support students in a classroom setting, maintaining a safe, respectful space conducive to learning.
• Participate in internal training—including mandated reporting, medical procedures, and CPI—ensuring best practices are consistently applied.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and support student success.

Must-Have

• Valid special education certification. (Open to Alt Sped Certs)
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
• Willingness to undergo drug testing, TB screening, and a physical exam prior to start.
• Commitment to working with high-needs students in a high-support environment.
• Ability to participate in in-person interviews and campus tours.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience working with children with emotional disturbances or specific educational needs.
• Familiarity with PBIS or similar positive behavior support strategies.
• Comfort working in a high-controls environment with structured routines.
