Key Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate mechanical and/or hydraulic stamping presses
- Set up, run, and maintain approximately 30 dies, including:
- 17 coil-fed dies, 3 of which are progressive
- Remaining single‑hit dies
- Perform die alignment, changeovers, and minor adjustments
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet print and quality specifications
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency
- Maintain and monitor the operation of sprayer/lubrication systems to ensure proper die and press performance
- Assist press operators as needed during setup and production
- Identify and report any equipment damage, maintenance needs, or repair issues promptly
- Perform minor welding tasks as required, or demonstrate a willingness to learn
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with safety and company standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Die Setter and/or Press Operator in a stamping or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret prints, setup sheets, and job travelers
- Experience with coil‑fed, progressive, and single‑hit dies preferred
- Knowledge of press safety procedures, including lockout/tagout
- Detail‑oriented, safety‑minded, and quality‑focused
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently
