What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst, Inventory Accounting position at CONAGRA?
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, you will perform general accounting and projects associated with Inventory Accounting for the Corporate Controllers Group (CCG). This position requires sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preparation/uploading journal entries, assistance with period-end close, preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, coordinating the distribution of routine and ad hoc financial and cost accounting reports and information with preparation of audit schedules.
Position Responsibilities
- Participate in accounting for inventory related processes, including: Abnormal inventory costs, lower of cost or market, contract manufacturing accounting, balance sheet flux reporting, supplier rebates
- Support processes and controls for actual costing through SAP Material Ledger, including variance analysis and reviews.
- Subject matter expert in life cycle of inventory; from procurement, manufacturing, distribution and to sale to customer.
- Provide financial analysis to plant, co-pack, brand and supply chain finance personnel to support and explain business results.
- Participate, and sometimes lead, in special projects involving inventory accounting matters, such as mergers/acquisitions, policy updates, creation of new processes, and business systems conversion and other inventory costing initiatives.
- Ability to create ad hoc balance sheet and profitability reports using Excel and SAP Business Warehouse software.
- Support Robotics Process Automation and development of new tasks that can be automated.
- Participate in period-end close activities to ensure completion of assigned tasks, including identification and resolution of unusual items and issues.
- Create monthly accounting schedules as support for the balance sheet account reconciliations and financial audits, including resolution of reconciling items..
- Exercise judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis to identify and help resolve issues.
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment both within and outside of assigned area of responsibility.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required
- 3 years of business experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, cost accounting, manufacturing, inventory experience, or related field required
- SAP experience preferred
- Ability to research problems and propose business solutions

Compensation:
Pay Range:$62,000-$91,000The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
