What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Engineer position at CONA Services?
Data engineer has ownership of designing and developing large scale data solutions. You will have deep technical skills in a variety of technology to play an important role in developing and delivering proof of concepts and product implementation. You will help build the data foundation that powers decision-making for all our bottlers. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain the architecture that connects our diverse data sources—from production systems and supply chain networks to point-of-sale platforms and consumer insights—enabling stakeholders to access trusted, actionable intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high performant data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using Azure Databricks, Snowflake, Iceberg, Microsoft Fabric
- Working with event bases streaming technologies to ingest and process data
- Design and Implement Data Lakehouse
- Working with other members of the project team to support delivery of additional project components (API interfaces, Search)
- Evaluating the performance and applicability of multiple tools against customer requirements
- Working within an Agile delivery / DevOps methodology to deliver proof of concept and production implementation in iterative sprints.
- Work with contractors to deliver products and services for the bottlers
- Conduct Pilots with bottlers and measure value
- Transition successful pilots into commercial applications
- Ensure design and implementation of technologies that comply with security standards and application architecture principles (in alignment with platform architects and respective review boards) and that consider state of the art data and analytics concepts
- Review code/solutions developed by team prior to migration to production

- You will be immersed in the business reasons for an application as much as the technical how to develop the application, for each POC/Application.
This is unique to CONA, as every team member can gain deep knowledge of the Bottlers needs and data that is used, and work through the full application lifecycle.

Work Environment: CONA follows a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 3 days (60%) in the office per week to support collaboration and development. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are required in-office days, and teams align on a flexible third in-office day. Attendance is reported monthly, with business travel (e.g., bottler visits, workshops, conferences) counting toward in-office requirements. CONA values coming to the office with purpose while maintaining flexibility for remote work outside of required days.
