JOB DUTIES:
- Supervises all staff in designated areas of responsibility and assists the Director of Operations by performing personnel functions such as scheduling and coordinating work assignments, performance evaluations, orientation and planning in-service training where appropriate.
- Ensures production employees work within the department’s recognized safety standards and also ensures the equipment within the department in functioning safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions to the maintenance department.
- Coordinates with other Supervisors and Lead Workers to ensure proper work flow throughout the laundry and reallocates staffing duties as necessary to accommodate fluctuations in workload.
- Monitors production and delivery schedules, production standards, quality standards, production records, and the department’s quality assurance program. Oversees records for linen discards and issuance of new linen.
- Assists the Director of Operations in preparing shift and vacation schedules and calls in casual replacements when required.
- Supervises data collection and input for the computerized linen/shipping program.
- Ensures adequate processing supplies are on hand to maintain production in all departments. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience Five (5) years recent, related experience in a commercial or industrial laundry including one year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Document that staff can articulate or demonstrate manufacturer’s instructions. Assist in the development and interpretation of policies and procedures for all aspects of healthcare textile processing.
- Assist in the development and interpretation of an Exposure Control Plan and be able to safely implement same.
- Be able to correctly interpret textile labels and recommended instructions for processing and handling.
- Recognize and understand the equipment process and potential hazards from equipment defects and improper performance of the job.
- Understand the risk of injury that defective or improperly operating equipment may inflict.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.
- Participates in and coordinates with organizational process to collect and evaluate information about hazards and safety practices that are used to identify safety management issues.
- Adheres to established policies and procedures, which may include wearing of personal protective equipment.
- Participates in and fosters a performance improvement approach that includes both intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
