SAP Integration Enterprise Architect

Job Summary

ComTec is looking for a highly experienced SAP Integration Enterprise Architect to lead integration strategy and execution for our client in the Utilities sector. This role focuses on designing secure, scalable, and reusable integration architectures across SAP and non-SAP systems, aligning IT solutions with business goals. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to modernize integration landscapes using best-in-class tools and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead the SAP integration architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and future-state IT roadmaps.
• Design robust, end-to-end integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP systems, ensuring performance, security, scalability, and high availability.
• Architect integrations using APIs, XML, FTP, and standard protocols to connect SAP with internal and external systems.
• Develop secure, scalable, and reusable integration patterns based on API-led, event-driven, and microservices principles.
• Translate current as-is landscapes and business needs into a to-be architecture and transformation roadmap.
• Lead the development of integration solutions using SAP Integration Suite (CPI), SAP PI/PO, and other middleware tools like MuleSoft and Azure Logic Apps.
• Apply cybersecurity architecture strategies to ensure secure integration across all systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with SAP functional and technical consultants, developers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into integration solutions.
• Establish governance frameworks, architecture principles, and design standards for all integration implementations.
• Lead SAP integration projects from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with best practices.
• Drive adoption of DevOps/CI-CD practices in the SAP integration development lifecycle.
• Monitor integration processes, define KPIs, and continuously optimize for performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Stay current with emerging SAP technologies (e.g., Event Mesh, BTP) and industry trends in enterprise integration and utilities.
• Ensure all integration practices comply with relevant regulations and standards such as SOX, GDPR, and utility-specific data policies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• 12 years of experience in IT, with 8 years focused on enterprise integration architecture, including at least 5 years in SAP integration technologies.
• Proven expertise in designing and delivering SAP-centric integration solutions in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Expertise in SAP Integration Suite (CPI), PI/PO, and experience integrating SAP via MuleSoft and other middleware.
• Deep understanding of integration patterns (ESB, API, event-driven, B2B, microservices).
• Proficient in protocols and formats including REST, SOAP, IDoc, OData, JMS, XML, JSON, and FTP.
• Familiarity with Utilities domain integration scenarios (e.g., Meter-to-Cash, EAM, Customer Service, Billing).
• Demonstrated experience in defining as-is vs. to-be architecture and integration roadmaps.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, compliance standards (SOX, GDPR), and architecture frameworks like TOGAF.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid integrations, including SAP BTP, AWS, Azure, and on-premise SAP systems.
• Exposure to architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of DevOps tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and integration testing frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to influence strategic decisions.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., SAP Integration, MuleSoft, TOGAF) preferred.
