Title: Lead Autosys Administrator
Location: Remote (1 week in a quarter onsite - TX)
ComTec is seeking a highly skilled Senior Autosys Administrator with deep expertise in enterprise workload automation and job scheduling environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing Autosys scheduling infrastructure in a large-scale production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, support, and enhance CA Autosys scheduling environments in high-availability enterprise systems, including designing and implementing scheduling solutions, managing complex job dependencies, and integrating SAP (ECC/S4HANA) and PeopleSoft workflows using Autosys adapters and plugins.
- Create, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Autosys jobs, box jobs, calendars, workflows, and batch processing to ensure SLA adherence, peak performance during high-volume periods, and timely resolution of production issues through root cause analysis and escalation support.
- Perform installation, upgrades, patching, migrations, and maintenance of Autosys components (Scheduler, Web UI, Database, and Agents) across Linux (RHEL/CentOS), UNIX, and Windows platforms, including agent management and environment stability improvements.
- Maintain secure scheduling operations through EEM/SAML access controls, audit compliance, operational documentation, change management, and collaboration with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to standardize best practices and provide technical guidance to junior administrators.
Required Skills:
- 7 years of experience in Autosys Administration, Workload Automation, and Production Support.
- Strong experience with Autosys job scheduling, JIL scripting, calendars, event-based scheduling, and Autosys Version 24.x.
- Experience working with SAP and PeopleSoft scheduling environments and handling cross-platform dependencies.
- Good knowledge of Linux, UNIX, and Windows server environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for batch jobs, job failures, agent issues, and production support.
- Hands-on experience with Shell scripting (Bash/Korn/Python) and automation.
- Knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server for reporting and troubleshooting.
- Experience with ServiceNow, ITIL processes, and change management.
- Knowledge of cloud migration environments like AWS and Azure.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced support environments.
- Understanding of end-to-end workload and ERP process dependencies.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Autosys or Linux Administration certifications (RHCSA/RHCE) are a plus.
