Preschool Instructional Aide

Comstock Park is seeking candidates who display a strong desire and ability to make an impact on students and the greater community both within and outside of the classroom.

SUMMARY:
Assists the teacher in general daily classroom activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads and/or assists in small group pupil instruction
• Assists teacher in maintaining discipline and other functions
• Assists with set up of classroom and prepares materials for learning
• Supports individual and small groups or children with pre-academic and social-emotional/behavioral skills.
• Supports with attendance and other clerical duties as assigned.
• Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
• May escort children to and from various rooms
• Maintains confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and Associates degree or must successfully pass a state approved basic skills test, or must have sixty (60) hours of credit from a four-year college or university.

This is an EduStaff position.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
• Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
