What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician Mechanical and Automation position at COMPX SECURITY PRODUCTS?
CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories.
Position Responsibilities:
- Reading mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic and electrical prints.
- Use of micrometers and calipers for accurate measurements.
- Fundamentals of AC and DC electrical circuits.
- Electrical panel building.
- Ability to identify the manufacturer and model number of a specific component and be resourceful enough to obtain necessary documentation.
- Understanding of pneumatic systems in automated equipment (how does a solenoid valve control a cylinder and how does the PLC control the solenoid valve).
- Experience with automated assembly equipment should include working with PLC’s, servo motion, vision systems, and pneumatic, electric and hydraulic actuators.
- Knowledge of building electrical, single and 3-phase.
- Ability to use and work on lifts and platforms.
- Mechanical background/skilled with hand and power tool operations.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Some College and/or Certification
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours.
- Ability to use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools.
