REQUIRED
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required in English;
PREFERRED
Associates Degree preferred; two (2) years or more working experience with personal computers, specifically in the following area: Hardware modifications, repair, and installation of computer software.
SUMMARY
Delivers and installs new computers and peripherals. Provides basic technical support services for users in the District. Repairs computers, printers and peripherals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Installs latest versions of Administrative/Instructional software. Trouble shoots all Administrative/Instructional equipment as requested.
Installs and tests tape drives and backup systems, modems, CD-ROM drives and multimedia kits.
Diagnoses and evaluates systems to recommend upgrades.
Loads and delivers hardware and software as requested for all campuses and departments.
Cleans and performs preventative maintenance on computers and printers.
Tests electrical current in offices prior to installing systems.
Troubleshoots personal computers, which connect to HP mini-computers in data center.
Assists with communication problems to HP UNIX host and HP MPE host system to include CO-LAN circuits, direct connect digital lines and dial up modems.
May install, maintain and troubleshoot phone master systems as needed.
Maintains current knowledge of required software applications.
Provide support and training to users as required.
Drives personal and District vehicles to and from worksite; obeys all traffic laws.
Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties.
Maintains confidentiality.
Maintains a high level of ethical behavior as is expected of all District employees.
Maintains professional growth by attending in-services and meetings as requested/required.
Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Director.
