Fiber Installer
Since 1998, CTI has transformed from a computer sales and service business into a facilities-based provider that now exclusively services its connectivity customers with fiber optics. CTI is the leading fiber internet, phone, and cable provider in Central Illinois. Its network passes over 12,000 homes across Christian County and Montgomery County, supported by staff from its offices in Taylorville and Hillsboro in Illinois. CTI provides internet, voice, and video to residential customers and internet, voice, and private transport data solutions to business customers.
Overview:
CTI is looking for a professional and motivated person to install and repair our internet, phone and TV services within our customer’s homes. You will be running cable through crawl spaces, drilling holes to feed cable through, and testing equipment to determine functionality.
Qualifications:
Must have the ability to communication effectively and concisely with co-workers and customers. Will regularly have to answer customer concerns. Professionalism is a must!
Must have the ability to read and understand work orders.
Must be able to work independently to complete scheduled jobs. Must be reliable.
Willing to maintain safe working conditions according to CTI policies and state and federal regulations.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle including various heavy equipment models.
Must be willing to get dirty. You will be in tight, cramped spaces at times. Some spaces are not clean.
Willing to wear appropriate safety gear, at all times, including safety boots, CTI apparel, etc…
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 30 pounds. Ability to push and pull wiring through drill holes.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach and twist while performing work.
Ability to climb in and out of crawl spaces and attics.
Must be able to work in small, confined areas, varying in depth.
Ability to stand or sit for several hours at a time.
Must have good hand strength, including a strong grip, and good hand/eye coordination.
Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
Requirements:
Valid Driver’s License.
Successful completion of a criminal and vehicle background check.
Successful completion of a drug screen, physical and a pre-employment agility examination.
Compensation:
Pay is commensurate with experience. 10-hour shifts, 4 days a week. Weekly overtime, including weekends, is sometimes required and when worked, is paid appropriately.
