Job Description

Title: Curriculum Designer

Department: Academics

Reports to: VP of Academics

FLSA Status: Exempt

General Purpose: The Curriculum Designer develops and maintains high-quality, industry-relevant curriculum for Healthcare Management programs. This role ensures that all instructional content meets accreditation standards, reflects current industry practices, and supports student success across classroom, online, and blended learning formats.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with or serve as a subject matter expert to design, write, and edit curriculum and course materials.
  • Apply curriculum and instructional design models to create engaging, accessible, and outcomes-based learning experiences.
  • Align curriculum with certification and accreditation requirements.
  • Develop assessments to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Incorporate emerging trends in healthcare management and instructional technology into course design.
  • Provide training and guidance to faculty on instructional best practices and effective use of learning technologies.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, curriculum development, instructional technology, or related field (healthcare management background preferred).
  • At least two years of experience in curriculum or instructional design, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models, and best practices for online, blended, and classroom instruction.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Experienced in presenting material to students and all levels of employees.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Equipment/Computer Skills:

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Able to adapt quickly to software applications including course management systems, learning management systems, etc.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

May require occasional travel to CSI campus locations.

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
