Business Analyst
Philadelphia, PA 19103 (hybrid)
Pay: $70,000-90,000
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support complex provisioning, sales order entry, and support systems within a telecommunications environment. This role focuses on defining system objectives, translating business needs into detailed requirements, and supporting customer journey communications across the full product lifecycle. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working across technical, UX, and testing teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and define system objectives through discovery and analysis of business and functional requirements
- Develop and maintain detailed product and system documentation, including System Requirement Specifications (SRS)
- Create and document feature requirements aligned with Plan of Record initiatives and product lifecycle needs
- Map customer journeys and contribute to customer-facing communications such as email and SMS notifications
- Collaborate closely with UX designers, developers, QA/testing teams, and other cross-functional partners throughout design, development, and delivery
- Gather requirements directly from end users and stakeholders; analyze needs and translate them into clear, actionable specifications
- Identify interdependencies between systems and assess the impact of changes across related platforms
- Support testing and validation efforts by comparing test results against original requirements to ensure accurate and complete implementation
- Participate in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing related to execution of system and communication requirements
- Assist in troubleshooting issues related to system functionality and customer communications
- Exercise independent judgment in complex or ambiguous situations and contribute meaningfully in a highly visible environment
- May lead projects or initiatives and mentor or guide other team members as needed
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex systems and integrations
- Demonstrated ability to write detailed, structured system and business requirements documentation (SRS)
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with UX, engineering, and testing teams
- Proficiency in validating system functionality against documented requirements
- Ability to analyze complex business processes and devise or modify workflows to resolve system challenges
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Telecom domain knowledge, including understanding of service lifecycles
- Experience supporting provisioning, order entry, or customer support systems
- Exposure to customer journey design and customer-facing communications
- Marketing or customer experience background, particularly related to crafting user-friendly language for email or SMS communications
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum-based delivery environments
