Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for performing physical and administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, and fulfilling orders for merchandise, materials, parts, and equipment. This role involves ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with company procedures and safety standards while maintaining efficient warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality checks on both outbound and inbound shipments.
- Stage and pack outbound materials in accordance with site policies.
- Execute ERP system transactions for shipments and inventory updates.
- Update the Freight Management System (FMS) for parcel and freight shipments.
- Learn and operate handheld RF scanners and the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to fulfill orders.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper handling and documentation.
- Handle hazardous materials safely on inbound and outbound shipments.
- Follow all 5S safety and housekeeping standards.
- Complete all safety training and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Lift up to 75 pounds unassisted as needed.
- Operate powered industrial trucks such as work assist vehicles (WAV), reach trucks, dock stockers, and pallet jacks.
- Create repair RMAs and manage shipment and receiving issues in repair systems.
- Learn product lines, processes, and work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Provide feedback for process improvement, documentation, and standardization.
- Resolve basic operational issues and perform simple analyses under supervision.
- Evaluate and maintain equipment and create expense orders for internal repair usage.
- Ensure ISO compliance and assist during external audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in using desktop systems and ERP/WMS tools.
- Basic math skills and ability to read measurement tools such as rulers.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow work instructions accurately.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Work Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
