Job Summary:
We are seeking a Trim Saw Operator responsible for leading trimming activities in the plant, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a safe work environment and meeting or exceeding customer quality requirements. This role involves operating and maintaining the trim saw equipment, performing quality checks, managing large inventory, and ensuring smooth production flow with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and stage the trim saw by scanning ticket barcodes into the computer and adjusting guides to maintain proper margins.
- Make manual adjustments to maintain or hold required tolerances.
- Test door set-up and barcode printer; run orders according to production schedules.
- Perform regular maintenance, including blade changes, sanding belt replacements, and trim saw calibration.
- Conduct regular quality checks and measurements before and after door sizing per order and line number.
- Verify accuracy and legibility of Jeta mark prints.
- Complete downtime reports accurately and timely.
- Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks and contribute to maintaining equipment reliability.
- Monitor, identify, and address quality and mechanical issues quickly to minimize downtime and waste.
- Ensure all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures and equipment guarding checks, are strictly followed.
- Maintain strong focus and attention to detail to ensure consistent product quality and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Required Skills:
- Certification in Lockout/Tagout procedures (Training provided onsite).
- Strong aptitude in measurement calculations and understanding of mechanical systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of trim saw machine operations, maintenance, blade changes, and printer maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules and work tickets.
- Skilled in performing quality checks and identifying defects.
- Ability to use multiple hand tools (e.g., wrenches, mallet).
- High information retention and ability to operate a computer-controlled trim saw.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong focus and high level of concentration to ensure quality and operational efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of door/customer quality specifications, door types, core types, and production tracking systems (e.g., Masterpack).
- Previous experience feeding or catching doors at the trim saw station.
Certifications:
Lockout/Tagout Certification (will be provided on-site if not already obtained).
