Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Associate performs a combination of manual and clerical duties related to the shipment and receipt of materials. This role involves working in a warehouse environment, using computer systems for tracking and reporting, and ensuring accurate and timely handling of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantity, weight, and identification against documentation.
- Prepare materials for shipment according to company procedures and schedules.
- Pack and unpack items such as finished goods, parts, and supplies.
- Log receipt and shipment details using computer systems.
- Process freight bills, packing sheets, and bills of lading.
- Record and report materials shipped, shipping charges, and destinations.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas.
Required Skills:
- Forklift operation.
- Data entry and computer literacy.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
Experience Required:
Prior shipping and receiving experience.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED (Required).
