Certification: Basic Life Support
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse – NICU to provide specialized care for critically ill or premature newborns in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise in neonatal nursing, excellent critical thinking skills, and a deep commitment to supporting infants and their families during challenging times.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to neonatal patients requiring intensive monitoring and treatment.
- Assess and monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage ventilators, feeding tubes, and other specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team to implement and adjust individualized care plans.
- Provide education, emotional support, and guidance to parents and families of NICU patients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care and condition.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control and patient safety standards.
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and emergency procedures as needed.
- Support the overall functioning of the NICU by assisting with unit operations and mentoring newer staff.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Level II or Level III NICU.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience with high-acuity neonatal patients, including ventilator and ECMO support.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal growth, development, and common conditions.
- Registered Nurse license (state-specific)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Additional neonatal certifications (e.g., STABLE) preferred but not required
