Marine Field Service Diesel Technician
Starting Pay Rate: $26.54 per hour
Hours: On-call required; 14 days on and 7 days off ; Expect to work 12-16 hours/day.
OT: Guaranteed 48 hours weekly, regardless of workload.
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Field Service Diesel Technician to join our dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-horsepower diesel engines, troubleshoot, and perform engine repairs in the marine sector. Technicians will be required to be on call, with flexible hours, including the possibility of night shifts. If you're passionate about marine engines and have extensive experience with heavy-duty engines, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Perform internal engine repair and overhaul on high horsepower diesel engines.
- Service and maintain fuel systems, wet manifolds, and after-treatment systems.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Perform sea trials after every repair to ensure system functionality and performance.
- Travel within a 2-hour radius of the shop (east and west along the Gulf Coast), with potential for international travel as you gain experience.
Requirements:
- Must Have Experience in high horsepower diesel engines, heavy-duty engine repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, and fuel systems.
- Flexibility and Availability: On-call, must be available to reach the shop within 30-60 minutes at any time, day or night.
- Ability to drive personal vehicle to the shop, then ride with another technician to the job site in a service truck.
- Only senior-level technicians will be assigned work vehicles.
- Sea Trials: Must be comfortable with sea trials after every repair.
- Additional Skills Preferred:
- TWIC card and passport are a plus but not required.
- Advanced technicians may have opportunities for international travel.
