JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to support and maintain production tools in a wafer manufacturing environment. The role requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced cleanroom setting, ensuring equipment reliability, uptime, and adherence to safety and quality standards while working both independently and collaboratively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on wafer fabrication equipment using established procedures and OJT
- Accurately document maintenance activities in tool logbooks and CMMS
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment to identify root causes and ensure long-term reliability
- Support Tool Owners and Equipment Engineers in improving tool performance and uptime
- Maintain detailed records including PM checklists, part usage, and maintenance history
- Continuously enhance technical skills through formal and informal training
- Follow cleanroom protocols and safety standards while maintaining high-quality workmanship
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for extended periods (12-hour shifts)
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of electrical safety and operational theory
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment (Photo, Thin Films, Plating, Etch, CMP)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of control systems and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers)
- Familiarity with failure analysis, root cause analysis, and repair documentation
- Experience using digital voltmeters (DVMs) and standard mechanical tools
- Entry-level experience in equipment maintenance or related field
- Technical background in electronics, mechanical systems, or semiconductor industry
CERTIFICATIONS
- Technical degree in Electronics or related field
- ASE Certified Mechanic
- Military electro/mechanical training
