JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Support Technician is responsible for performing preventative and reactive maintenance on facility equipment, grounds, and physical structures, while supporting limited maintenance on manufacturing equipment. The role ensures compliance with safety regulations, conducts inspections, coordinates with vendors, and maintains operational efficiency of facility systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on facility equipment and grounds
- Conduct routine inspections of fire safety systems, facilities, and surrounding areas
- Perform basic carpentry and maintenance of physical structures (walls, floors, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, and structural issues
- Utilize ladders, lifts, and other equipment safely
- Coordinate with vendors for contracted maintenance work
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards (NFPA, OSHA, ANSI, etc.)
- Support limited maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment
- Maintain records and track maintenance activities using systems/spreadsheets
- Work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of the work environment
- Handle additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience OR Associate degree with 2 years of related experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, plumbing, and facility maintenance.
- Previous experience in HVAC troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations (NFPA, DOT, ANSI, OSHA, etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel for tracking
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work on-site
- Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearnce.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using CMMS systems (e.g., Faciliworks)
- HVAC, plumbing, or electrical maintenance experience
- Familiarity with facility and equipment maintenance processes
- Basic knowledge of compliance requirements and record handling
CERTIFICATIONS
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (Safety)
- EPA 608 (HVAC)
- CPR / First Aid
